Our textile history.
For nearly 100 years Artex has produced textile products that stand the test of time. Today, Artex is owned by childhood friends and entrepreneurs Björn Samenius and Mats Rydsund together with the investment company Pamica. The company has 400 employees at four units, the largest in Mjölby, Sweden, and in Smiltene, Latvia.
-
In 1930, John G Torgner started producing car seat covers in a basement in Linköping, Sweden.
-
When the company outgrew the basement premises, the operation moved to Mjölby.
-
Many women started their sewing careers at an Artex machine.
-
Craftsmanship has always played a central role in Artex's operations.
